The Downfall of ROI: A Tale of Tyranny and Betrayal

In the vast and immersive world of New World, guilds rise and fall, alliances are formed and broken, and players across servers come together to share in the excitement of battle. But what happens when the very foundations of trust and camaraderie are shaken? This is my story, a tale of deception and betrayal by the once-revered guild, "Return on Investment" (ROI).
The signs were there, subtle at first. I was an eager participant, always ready to defend our territories, always waiting for the call to arms. I dedicated hours, pushing two influence wars, rallying with my comrades to ensure our guild's dominance. But when the time came, I was sidelined. My dedication went unnoticed, my efforts unrewarded.
Instead, to my shock, slots in the wars were handed out like favors to friends of the guild leaders—friends who hadn't even signed up for the wars. To add insult to injury, many of these 'privileged' players weren't even from our server, and, unsurprisingly, they never showed up.
Hurt but undeterred, I remained loyal to the guild, staying online on standby for three consecutive wars. The second of these wars saw me being pulled in, but not out of recognition or respect. It was a mere mistake. And the third war? I was begrudgingly allowed to participate, but it wasn't out of appreciation. It was a pity gesture, a war we had initially planned to throw. I hadn't even wanted to join that one, knowing the odds and the intentions.
The experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. The ROI I had once held in high regard had changed. The camaraderie and fairness that had once defined the guild were replaced by nepotism and tyranny. It was no longer about skill, dedication, or passion for the game; it was about who you knew and how close you were to the leadership.
The downfall of ROI wasn't just about losing wars or territories. It was about the erosion of trust, the betrayal of loyal members, and the rise of a tyrannical leadership that valued personal connections over merit and dedication.
To my fellow players, I share this story as a cautionary tale. The virtual world, much like the real one, is filled with both allies and adversaries. Choose your guilds wisely, and always remember: loyalty is a two-way street.
